HEC-RAS

Short course on river flow modeling with HEC-RAS

Overview

A short course on river flow modelling with HEC-RAS will be offered as part of ISH2027. Full programme details, schedule and requirements will be published soon.

Please check this page again or register for the conference to receive updates by e-mail.

FLOW-3D

Short course on free-surface flow modeling with FLOW-3D HYDRO

Overview

This workshop introduces the fundamental features of FLOW-3D HYDRO: user interface and workflow for 3D models, with hands-on exercises on real spatial data.

Participants receive a 30-day FLOW-3D HYDRO Academic license.

Session 1 develops a rating curve for a series of spillway bays at a major river dam. Session 2 explores the examples workspace: importing projects, restarts, and post-processing in FLOW-3D POST.

Requirements

  • Laptop: Windows 10 or 11.
  • Data: download installation files and datasets before the workshop (links sent in advance).
  • Licences: provide MAC addresses of network interfaces for licence files.

  1. FLOW-3D HYDRO graphical user interface
  2. Geometry data source
  3. Mesh, boundary and initial conditions
  4. 3D unsteady computation
  5. Simple ogee weir results analysis

Block 2 (1.5 h): Examples workspace
